Users

This page adds accounts for the people who will use the site, gives them roles, changes passwords and deletes accounts.

Your role needs Can create user, Can edit user or Can delete user, depending on the task. What each person can do on the site depends on the role you give them.

1. Open Users and press Add user.
2. For Provider, keep Platform. For an account from your organization's directory, see Add people from a directory.
3. Fill in First name, Last name, Display name and Email. You can also add a profile picture with Choose picture.
4. Set a Username and a Password. The password must be at least 8 characters.
5. Choose a Role.
6. Press Save.

Then tell the account's owner the username and password.

If the site is connected to your organization's directory, such as LDAP, the Provider list has that directory to choose. If it does not, ask the server administrator to install the plugin for that directory first.

1. Press Add user and choose the directory in Provider.
2. Type a name in the Search users box that appears, then choose the person from the list. The form fills itself in.
3. Choose a Role and press Save.

People from a directory use the directory's password, so the form has no Password box.

Edit a userCopy Anchor Link

1. Open Users, type a name, username or email in the Search users box and press Enter.
2. Press Edit in that person's row.
3. Change what you need and press Save.

• To change the password, type the new one in the Password box. To keep it, leave the box empty.
• After a password change, people who already have an App open are not signed out.
• You cannot change your own role. Another administrator has to change it for you.
• An account with the Administrator role can be edited or deleted only by someone who also has the Administrator role.

Delete a userCopy Anchor Link

Find the user the same way as for editing. Press Delete in that person's row, then press Delete again in the confirmation box. The account is deleted at once and cannot be restored. You cannot delete your own account.
