OAuth clients
Register your program as an OAuth client so people can sign in to it with their platform account.
This page helps you register a program you wrote yourself, so people can sign in to it with their platform account. Installing an app for the whole platform is the administrator's job. See Apps and the Marketplace.
Create a client
- Open Account, click Clients, then click Add client.
- Type the Name of the program.
- Under Scopes, tick what the program will ask from users.
- Choose the Type of the program, then fill in the fields that appear. See Values by type.
- If you want a logo for the program, click Choose picture under Logo.
- Click Save.
After you save, you see the Client ID and Secret that were made for you. Put both values in your program.
Values by type
| Type | What to fill in |
|---|---|
| Web | Origins, the web address of the program, and Redirect URIs, the address the platform sends people back to after they sign in |
| Android | The Package names of the app |
| iOS | The Bundle IDs of the app |
| Other | Nothing |
Type the value in the Add item field and press Enter or the + button. To remove a value, click the trash icon in its row.
Copy the Client ID and Secret
- In the list, click Edit on the client.
- Click the copy icon in the Client ID or Secret field.
Whoever has the secret can sign in as this client, so keep it secret.
Create a new secret
Use this when the secret has reached someone else.
- Click the circular arrow icon in the Secret field.
- Click Reset to confirm.
The old secret stops working at once. Put the new secret in every program that uses this client.

- In the list, click Delete on the client.
- Click Delete again to confirm.
If the Delete button is dimmed, this client cannot be deleted.
