Default map
Choose the web map the site uses as its default map, and fix it when the Overview says the map is missing.
This page chooses one web map as the site's default map. The map is used in three places.
Your role needs Can edit configuration.
Choose the default map
- Open Default map. The page shows the map in use now.
- Press Select web map and choose the web map you want.
- Check the preview shows the right map, then press Save.
Until you press Save, the default map stays the same.
Go back to the built-in map
Press Use default web map, then press Save.
Where this map is used
- Map Studio uses it as the template when someone creates a new web map.
- Data Studio uses it as the background map when someone views the location of a Record.
- A geometry field in a form uses this map, if the form has no map of its own.
If the Overview reports a map problem
- "The default map is not set." Choose a map by the steps above.
- "The default map no longer exists." The web map you chose has been deleted. Choose another web map and save. Meanwhile the preview is empty, shows a red message "Request failed with status code 404", and the Use default web map button cannot be pressed.
