Filter the whole dashboard

Use the filter bar to filter every widget at once, click a chart to filter, and choose which widgets are not filtered.

This page helps you filter a dashboard down to the data you want to see, for example only Chiang Mai province, and every widget changes together.

The filters you set belong to you alone. They are not saved to the dashboard, and other people who open it do not see them.

Add a filter

  1. In the bar above the dashboard, press Add filter.
  2. Choose the field to filter on. Type in the Search box to find it faster.
  3. Choose the values you want, then press Done.

The filter appears as a chip on the bar, for example "Province: Chiang Mai". Press the chip to change its values, or press the x on the chip to remove it.

The filter bar appears once the dashboard has data.

Choose values

To take every value except the ones you ticked, press Exclude after ticking.

Press Clear to remove that filter, or press Reset on the bar to clear everything and go back to how it was when you opened it.

Click a chart to filter

You can let viewers click a bar in a chart or a cell in a table, and the other widgets filter by that value. You turn this on one widget at a time, in the Conditions section.

  • Chart: turn on Clicking filters other widgets.
  • Table: in Clicking a cell filters by, choose The value clicked or The record clicked.
  • Map: see Click the map to filter.

The value clicked filters every widget that has that field. The record clicked filters down to one record, and only for widgets that use the same table.

Click the same spot again to cancel.

Keep some widgets unfiltered

A filter applies to every widget whose table has a field of the same name. To keep a widget's total for comparison, set it up like this:

  1. Click that widget, then open the Conditions section.
  2. In Dashboard filters, choose Ignore to ignore filters altogether, or choose Apply, except… and pick in Filters to ignore which ones to ignore.

The default is Apply.

See which filters reach a widget

Hover the funnel icon on the widget. It lists Filters reaching this widget. A filter that has no effect gives the reason, for example "no matching field", which means that widget's table does not have this field.

In the viewer, the web address changes with the filters you set. Copy that address and send it to someone, and they see the dashboard filtered the same way. Filtering by clicking a chart does not travel with the link.
