Add a layer from data in Drive
Put the records of a collection or view in Drive on the map as a layer
Each record in the item becomes one feature on the map.
Add a layer from Drive
- In the editor, click Add layer at the bottom left, then choose Select from Drive.
- In the Select an item window, find the item in the My Drive or Shared with me tab, or type its name in the Search items box.
- Click the item, then click Select.
Only collections and views can be chosen. Other items are greyed out.
Add a view
If you choose a view, a second window, Add collection, opens.
- Keep the view's own name in the Name box, or type a new one.
- In Type, choose the one that matches the view's geometry: Point collection, Polyline collection or Polygon collection.
- Click Add.
See which item a layer came from
Click the layer name at the top of the panel. It shows the Folder the item is in, when it was last Updated, and your Access: Can edit or View only. If you renamed the layer, the Name row shows the item's real name.
You cannot change data in this panel. To change the data, open the item in Drive or Data Studio.
