Create and manage dashboards

Create a new dashboard, name it, find it, open it and delete it.

This page helps you create a new dashboard, find the ones you have and delete the ones you no longer use. You do all of it from App Studio's home page.

Create a dashboard

  1. On App Studio's home page, press Create a new application. The editor opens with a dashboard named "Untitled dashboard".
  2. Click the name at the top left and type a new one.

A new dashboard is in the top level of My Drive. To keep it in a folder, move it in Drive.

Next: place widgets.

Create from Drive

  1. In Drive, open the folder where the dashboard should live.
  2. Right-click an empty spot, choose New item, then choose Application.

Drive creates the dashboard in that folder and opens App Studio in a new tab.

Saving

App Studio saves by itself about a second after you make a change. You do not need to press save. The status is next to the dashboard's name.

  • Saving...: it is saving.
  • All changes saved: saving is done.
  • Could not save: press Retry in the red bar under the name.

If you clear the name, App Studio does not save. Type a name back in and saving continues.

Find and open a dashboard

  • Type a name in the Search box.
  • In Owner, choose to see Anyone, My Drive or Shared with me.
  • Press the sort button and choose Last modified or Name.

Click a card to open it for viewing. To edit, press the three-dot button on the card, then choose Edit.

If the menu on a card has only Open, you cannot edit that dashboard.

Delete a dashboard

  1. Press the three-dot button on the card, then choose Delete.
  2. Press Delete again to confirm.

The dashboard goes to Drive's trash. If you deleted it by mistake, restore it from the trash in Drive.
